Thrifting Magic: My $14 Stained Glass Lamp with a Twist
I’ve always been a fan of thrifting, but sometimes the stars align, and you stumble upon something really special. Recently, I found an incredible stained glass lamp shade at Goodwill for only $10. At the time, I had no idea what I’d do with it, but I couldn’t resist the colors and craftsmanship.
A couple of days later, the thrifting gods smiled on me again—I found the perfect lamp to pair with the shade at another Goodwill location for just $4!
With the two pieces finally in hand, I had a spark of creativity. I popped a grow light bulb into the lamp and placed a baby golden pothos I’d been propagating from clippings at the base. The lamp has a wooden base, so it really complements the natural vibe of the plant. Now, not only do I have a beautiful stained glass lamp, but it also doubles as a practical grow light for my pothos!
This find was such a reminder of how thrifting can spark creativity. It’s so fun to see how two pieces from different places can come together to create something unique and functional. If you’ve been looking to get creative with your own finds, I encourage you to hit up your local thrift stores—you never know what treasures you’ll uncover!
I’m also linking the grow light bulbs I used from Amazon, in case anyone’s curious!
Happy thrifting!
