Garden Update

Mother’s Day

Phew, what a day! It’s been busy at work lately. Last week I had a three day commercial production for Sanford Children’s which was super fun but also super exhausting. I was glad to be done and get on with the weekend! Mother’s Day was lovely. I got spoiled by the family as always which was super sweet. Ben and the kids got me a new mug for tea, a watercolor set that I’ve been wanting recently and a sock knitting book. I’m a lucky gal, that’s for sure!

Garden Update

Also a tradition on Mother’s Day in our family is to begin preparing the garden. I started seeds back in April while my sister-in-law Jenna was in town. She brought some seeds she’d saved to share with us so I planted some of those as well. It’s always lovely to see her. She’s one of my favorite people. 🥰

Yesterday I began the hardening off process. Our seedlings are finally close to being ready to go into our raised beds. I’m hoping to have them ready by next weekend. We kind of let our garden beds go in the fall so they need quite a bit of work but Ben and I made a good amount of progress in the yard today. We got the biggest bed, the 4×8’, all cleared out and ready to go. Only 3 more 4×4’s to go. One of my goals this year is to learn more about canning our harvests, but more on that later.

Anyway, all in all it’s been a great day and I’m excited about our progress. That’s all for now!
